Walking Routine

Every evening that Cheney doesn't play golf we drive to Furman University and walk along their lakeside trails. There are several that wind throughout the wooded areas and one that goes along the lake. A few days a week I also rollerblade the lakeside trail. These pics are from one of our outings. On Thursday evenings there is a free concert that is very popular. The type of music changes each week. This past Thursday, the tunes were from the 30s and next week they are focusing on Swing music. Loads of people gather and tailgate all over the lakeside. This definitely wouldn't be ideal in Louisiana due to the extreme temps, but it's quite different here in upstate South Carolina.

We have arrived!

It's been awhile since I"ve updated my blog so let's get up to speed. Over Spring Break we traveled to South Carolina and attended the Master's Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Had a blast - didn't even recognize Tiger Woods when he spoke to me. Cameras weren't allowed, so no pictures are available. School ended in May and I traveled to Navarre Beach, Florida with a group of teachers for 27 hours. Returned home early Wednesday morning sunburned. That same day we picked up a moving truck in Denham Springs, LA, packed it up, and left Baton Rouge at 3:30 in the afternoon with all of our belongings and Bogey. After 11 hours of driving we finally arrived in Greenville, South Carolina at our temporary home. We are staying with Cheney's mother until we find a place to live. We love it here and the climate is good for our health. The air is cleaner and much less humid. The food is fabulous and there is opportunity to be active all around us. Cheney is playing golf for $10 at a fabulous course 3 times a week. I go with him and walk. So, that's about 18 miles a week. If we don't do that, I rollerblade around the lakes at the local college or we walk the dog.
