Happenings

A few months ago I began my Southern Living At Home business here in Baton Rouge. I was having at least 2-3 parties a month, and then Katrina and Rita hit. Things have been slow, but this week was the first sign for me that life is returning to normal for most people. I did one show and had a hostess coaching meeting for a November show. So, things are picking up a bit.

School has been hectic. It gets extremely busy this time of year because of the holidays and everything that happens with them. Fall festivals, Book Character Dress Up Day, etc. Students have been excited to say the least. I am also finishing up my Louisiana evaluation semester.

We are planning on going to South Carolina for Thanksgiving. A good friend of mine from high school just moved with her family to Cheney's neck of the woods and they will be celebrating with us.

This week I was inducted into Kappa Kappa Iota (teaching soriority). It's nice to join with other teachers from the area.

Great Weekend

I decided to take the day off from school for a little R & R on Friday. I ended up spending the day with my niece, Sophie. We went to Target, School Aids, Whole Foods Market, Jason's Deli, Stein Mart, and STARBUCKS! They have finally brought a Starbucks closer to me. Now I only have to drive for 20 minutes to get a good cup of coffee.
