Is it winter yet?

Today is the 29th of January and it was almost 80 degrees. Will winter ever show up in south Louisiana? I highly doubt it. We've had moments of cool temps, but I haven't needed to wear a jacket yet. I sure wish I could. All of those winter clothes have just been collecting dust in the closet. We'll wait and see what February brings. Even though a groundhog may give us 6 weeks of winter, I don't think that applies to the Bayou State.

I've officially begun the countdown to moving day. We have set our date of departure for May 25th. That is just shy of 4 months. Believe it or not, after moving 7 times in the last 8 years, I am actually excited about this one. One of the biggest excitements: 4 seasons. I have never experienced that in any of the places that we have called home. Here in Louisiana, spring lasts about 2 weeks, as does fall.
