Weekend Jaunts

For the last few weekends, Cheney and I have taken the opportunity to explore the area in which we live. We are only an hour from the mountains, so we've taken full advantage of the beautiful countryside with weekend drives. A few weekends ago we drove out to Cowpens Battleground, site of a Revolutionary battle that had a Colonial victory. This past weekend we went to Poinsett Bridge (a Civil War Bridge, Tryon, NC, and Saluda, NC on backroads. We discovered some beautiful little hideaways and fabulous mountain towns. After church on Sunday, we ventured up Sassafrass Mountain (the highest point in SC) and over to Lake Toxaway. We discovered Whitewater Falls while we were out.
